FAQ about logging in to the LACon V Virtual Convention
Much of the LAcon V Virtual Convention is using a unified log in system. This means you will be able to use the same account to access the different parts of the convention.

Why log in?
We have a lot of online resources available to everyone, such as our program guide, and information about accessibility.
However, some areas of the Virtual Convention are restricted to members only. These include things like:

- Nominating and voting in the Hugo Awards
- Voting in site selection
To access there, you will need to activate your account and log in.

Application permissions
When you log in, you may be asked to grant an application access to some information about you. The application needs this information to work as intended.
We know that some people may not want their information shared with third parties. To help provide transparency, the list below shows all the applications that use the LAcon V unified log in, and indicates whether they are:
- Owned, hosted and operated by LAcon V, meaning your data remains entirely within LAcon V; or
- Operated by a third-party, meaning only the necessary information for the application to function will be shared with that provider.

|---|---|---|
| Authentik | Authentication | LAcon V |
| Concourse | Virtual Convention Portal | LAcon V |
| Nomnom | Hugo Award nomination and voting | LAcon V |
| Planorama | Program participant scheduling | LAcon V |
